🥦 For you broccoli lovers... This is what broccoli that was left unharvested looks like. Perfectly fresh, healthy, safe to eat, and delicious. I know, I ate it!
I'm so inspired by all the efforts to reduce foodwaste, especially given the last week's emphasis on the issue. As I've told many people lately, I like to "stay in my lane" and work to prevent foodloss in freshproduce, which often happens postharvest.
When you're looking at food waste data, consider this: there is very little data to describe food loss in agricultural production. In fact, there is so little, that even after collecting data myself, I am confident in saying we still have no idea how much food loss happens on farms. There is so much to uncover in this area, especially in the US, also around the world!
