The Evening Post in Norway is asking: Does it pay for supermarkets to dump out perfectly edible food?

πŸ… Across the West, journalists & policymakers are starting to question current retail practices ever-more frequently.

πŸ₯¦ Norway has experienced 9% groceries' inflation in the last 12 months & yet many of its supermarkets' dumpsters are packed night after night after night.

Over $283 million of food waste dumped out in the last 12 months, with supermarkets responsible for 14% of all of the nation's food waste.

For too long, we've lumped together commercial food waste and household food waste, which makes no sense.

Consumers are throwing their wages out of the window.

Supermarkets, on the other hand, are some of the most powerful businesses in our the food ecosystem, reaping in considerable profits (with small margins) across a nation.

The 14% of supermarket food waste does not even begin to cover the "food loss" that supermarkets are responsible for upstream at farm- and food-processing level.

Have you ever wondered if insurance plays a role in this daily food waste?
