Australia – it’s time to get on board!

πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί I am beyond excited to introduce our latest adventure to fight food waste – a bright yellow tram! Thanks to the wonderful initiative by Yarra Trams Community Partnership Program, thousands of commuters in Melbourne will get the chance to see our Use It Up tape emblazoned across some of the most wasted food from our homes.

We know urgent action is needed in Australia to halve food waste by 2030 and inspiring behavioural change is key to achieving this goal. This is an incredible opportunity for OzHarvest to let people know about a solution that really works – our Use It Up tape!

New research from Dr Mark Boulet at BehaviourWorks Australia (part of Monash Sustainable Development Institute) shows that households using the tape can cut their food waste by 40%! With the average household throwing away around $2,500 worth of food each year, this is great a way to save food, save money and save the planet.

A huge thank you to Yarra Trams for helping us to raise awareness and get this important message on track! Keep an eye out for the OzHarvest tram on routes 48 and 109 from May – August. Whilst you can only see the tram in Melbourne, the tape is available nationally - just jump on our website to order.

Come on Australia – let’s fight food waste!
